Paranormal Video to watch very carefully

December 29th 2011 07:16

Youtube is a wonderful place to entertain yourself. It is also a good source or paranormal videos. While the great majority are faked for fun of course there are a few really worth watching and wondering about.

The video I found that you have to watch twice is the one below. While it looks like it starts off looking like a faked video there are a few shots that really blew me away.

Watch it for yourself and yes, watch it twice.

The Real Ghosts of Christmas Past

December 21st 2011 21:11

Ghosts don't take a winter break from making their presence known, in fact it is around Christmas time and other well known family gatherings that they seem to enjoy showing up.

There are personal reports all over the internet of Christmas lights that light up when not plugged in, a sighting of a deceased relative that simply smiles or shows the person witnessing the event that all is well.

Christmas time is sometimes remembered as a time of a past tragedy in families and it is in those times that a spirit might show up to comfort those they have left behind. This also might occur long after their own relatives have left the area where they appear.

For further reading on the subject of personal experiences at Christmas time with ghosts click here where you can read many events related by the people who experienced them at Christmas time.

Haunted Albany Oregon

September 21st 2011 20:50
Inside movie theater

Located south of the capital of Oregon, Albany has a few haunted tales to tell. I had no idea that the place had its fair share of hauntings in public places. There were two of them that I found interesting. Both of them interested me since I have visited both places.

First up is the site of the Albany Cinemas. They are part of the Regal Cinema chain and I go there often to see movies. The place is suppose to be haunted. According to the story, in the late 1970's a farmhouse next door to the theater complex was torn down to expand the cinema building. The two screens that were added are reported to be haunted. There is suppose to be a ghost of a small dog seen in the aisles and of lights moving across the floor. I don't remember experiencing anything odd when I go there but heck, in the dark and enjoying a good movie I would be hard pressed to be distracted. I'll ask the people who work there if they have heard of the ghost dog the next time I go to the movies.

Next is the Hereford Steer Restaurant. That place was reported to be haunted by the dead owner of the restaurant. He was reportedly shot by police. The story goes on to report that the former owner liked to play pranks on the people visiting the restaurant. But here is the problem, the story is a fake. The owner of the Hereford Steer Restaurant died in April 2011. He opened the restaurant in or around 1976 and it closed in 1997. The restaurant was torn down by the property owner in 2002 - it is still a vacant lot. I could find no local stories to back up the claims of the haunting.

So here is a lesson for all you would be investigators out there - don't believe everything you read online and if you do find something interesting try to find out the real truth.

The ghosts of ground zero - NYC

September 10th 2011 22:47
After the collapse

The 10th anniversary of the collapse of the Twin Towers in NYC is on Sept 11, 2011. That brings up an interesting thought. With such a huge loss of human life, is ground zero haunted

Heaven is scary to some people

July 31st 2011 04:45

Each culture has their own ideas about the hereafter. Religion plays a major role in developing those ideas. Even within some religions there are variations of what heaven is thought to be. Heaven in Christianity and the Jewish faith is the ideal of the place where "good" people go after they die

Heather O'Rourke was the young actress that played the girl, Carol Ann, in all 3 of the Poltergeist movies. She died tragically at the age of 12 from a blocked small intestine that went misdiagnosed. During her short lifetime she appeared in numerous TV shows, commercials and other movies

Humans are an odd bunch, they love scary stories and pay money to be scared out of their wits. Amusement parks cash in with scary rides and many touring companies have popped up in big cities to provide "haunted tours." So why do we love to be scared and why do ghost stories affect us the most?

Ghosts or spirits, depending how you look at the concept, are either admittedly denied by non-believers, embraced by believers or are just approached scientifically by those who want proof. This leads us to discussions on the subject that often starts in childhood

I had something happen to me just a few days ago. I was shopping at a local feed/hardware store and had a ghostly encounter. The store is modern well lit building about the size of a supermarket. The aisles are laid out like a Walmart with plenty of room to maneuver a shopping cart.

The feed store encourages dog owners to bring their dogs into the store to shop for dog supplies. The store does not have any resident pets such as a cat wandering the store to get friendly with the customers. I often encounter dog owners that bring their dogs into the store so it is a normal occurrence

I love a good ghost story

October 15th 2010 21:22

Just because I try and look at paranormal events with a scientific approach does not mean I don't love a good ghost story. Add a splash of real history to the story and you have gotten me hooked

Did you know that Halloween is now known as the biggest celebrated day during the year in the USA? That is in the terms of money spent and parties held. Considering that businesses push for people to buy Christmas gifts each year it should not surprise anyone because the USA is no longer a nation where Christianity is the only religion

When you were little, I bet you heard almost every adult around you say "there is no such thing as ghosts." It was probably in response to you telling them that you saw something in your dark bedroom. Them telling you that there was no such thing as ghosts was not so much what they believed, but it was a ploy to get you to back to your bed and go to sleep. They did not want you bothering them in the middle of the night nor the late evening when they were doing other things. That thought, that they buried deep in your mind, at an early age, stayed with you. Never mind that they were also the same people that told you about Santa. You still trusted them and what they told you was true.

That was what most people believed as they were growing up. The Gallup poll of 2007 tells us that only 25% of the adult USA population believes in ghosts. The rest are in denial

Close to the casinos in Atlantic City is located the Absecon Lighthouse. The video below shows the owners before they called in the Ghost Hunters from the SyFy channel. They talk about sighting a creature they call the "Jersey Devil", a flying creature that is well known by the locals, that landed on the top of the lighthouse and someone tried to shoot it. You can go to the Ghost Hunters website to find out more about the investigation on the lighthouse, but check out the video first.
