Historic haunted location to be turned into movie set

The former Pennhurst State School and Hospital in Chester County PA has been the location of many recent TV paranormal investigations. All sorts of sounds and movements have been recorded on video and audio that remain unexplained. The state hospital had a notoriously violent history. Unspeakable surgeries were forced on mentally ill children. The living conditions were enough to bring anyone to tears, yet thousands of patients lived at this place most of their lives.

It was shut down about 20 years ago. Now the hospital faces an unusual future as a modern haunted house and a movie set. The video below shows why some people are not too fond of that idea. If you happen to catch a glimpse of Pennhurst on A&E like I did a month back, you would see how huge a property this place is.

Ghost busting at the Absecon Lighthouse

Close to the casinos in Atlantic City is located the Absecon Lighthouse. The video below shows the owners before they called in the Ghost Hunters from the SyFy channel. They talk about sighting a creature they call the "Jersey Devil", a flying creature that is well known by the locals, that landed on the top of the lighthouse and someone tried to shoot it. Reality TV ghost shows can be dangerous

Am am sitting here and watching "Extreme Paranormal" on A&E. Normally the show does the regular paranormal investigating but as of late they are getting more bizarre in "provoking the spirits" as they put it. The latest is detailing and showing how to perform a "blood ritual" to get the spirits to react to them. So now they are showing low grade witchcraft to summon the dead! On the show prior to that one, they buried a member of the team in a coffin and then left him while the rest of the team wandered around in the woods

Phantom caught on home video

Everyone wants to see some proof of a haunting. Thanks to the newer camcorders and digital cameras, evidence is now being caught of the paranormal. People are posting their own evidence online now. The video below is one of the most widely viewed "ghost" videos on YouTube to date. It has over 39 million views. The video is short and if you are wondering what to look for, keep your eyes on the rocking chair. I do have to warn you that this video is not for the faint of heart.

Paranormal investigations

Things that go bump in the night.........are not always of paranormal origin. A bump in the night is often just that, a sound that is unidentified. Of course that does not stop us humans with over active imaginations and poor night vision to dream up all sorts of things. Now don't get me wrong, there is very compelling evidence for ghosts, spirits, the afterlife and hauntings. That does not mean that everything that is unexplained is paranormal.

I encourage those who are interested in investigating the paranormal to first have a healthy curiosity and not to be easily frightened by the unknown. Paranormal investigating is not for the faint of heart nor for those who have over active imaginations. You must be able to identify that "bump in the night" with an unbiased scientific approach. Once you can do that you are well on your way to conducting a well thought out and scientific paranormal investigation
